The home was opened in 1938 as a replacement for St Agnes' Hostel For Girls, Croydon, London. It was closed in 1972 and the residents were moved to Harvey Goodwin House Home, Cambridge. In 1974 the building was reopened in as a holiday home for small groups of children in the care of The Children's Society.
