CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history:

Queen Elizabeth College, which came into being with the granting of a Royal Charter in 1953, succeeded the Home Science and Economics classes of King's College Women's Department and King's College for Women, which started in 1908; the Household and Social Science Department of King's College for Women, which opened in 1915; and King's College of Household and Social Science, which operated from 1928. The amalgamation of the College with King's College London and Chelsea College was completed in 1985.

Microfiche records of Queen Elizabeth College undergraduate and postgraduate students, 1971-1985 (Ref: Q/MFF). Individual fiche items take the form of transcripts. Information for undergraduates typically includes name, matriculation number, date of birth, nationality, home address, term address, previous schooling, session, major subject(s), minor subjects, marks, value, degree awarded, date of award, comments, and whether transferred to another College.

Student names are listed alphabetically on index fiche. This gives the students' USR number by which their records can be located in the main fiche series.

Subject to an eighty year closure period from date of leaving, but may be consulted by the Ceremonies and Events Office and other appropriate College staff.

Printouts of transcripts can be supplied to the Ceremonies and Event Office and other appropriate College staff.
