Administrative/Biographical history:

The first meeting of the Joint Standing Committee of the RCOG and RCM took place on 11 May 1988. The objectives of the Committee were to "consider and make recommendations on matters of common interest to parent bodies". It did not have an executive function and reported to the Councils of the RCM and RCOG; meetings took place at least twice a year.

Archival history:

Report was transferred to the College Archives in 2002 by the Clinical Governance and Standards Department.

Immediate source of acquisition:

The published reports from 1988 on gynaecological pathology and on fetal and perinatal pathology were found in the SAC files on the respective working parties (refs: B10/2/40-41). Records on the 1998 working party on fetal and perinatal pathology were transferred from the Administration Department in 2003.
