Administrative/Biographical history:
Lady Jersey was born in 1753, only daughter of Rt. Rev. Philip Twysden, Bishop of Raphoe, and in 1770 married George Bussy Villiers, 4th Earl of Jersey. She was a friend of the Prince of Wales, and died on 23 July 1821, just four days after his coronation as George IV.

Scope and content/abstract:
This is a collection of 5 letters from Frances 4th Countess of Jersey, four of them signed and one endorsed "From Lady Jersey" in an unknown hand. None of the letters are dated, but it has been possible to put approximate dates to them, from internal evidence.
