Manuscript family diary of Joseph William Corfield (c 1810-1888), including contributions from his children, especially Emma Ann(a) Corfield (1835-1910). Contains entries on radical constitutional politics, Chartism, current affairs, the anti-slavery movement and women's suffrage, alongside revealing vignettes of family, business and social life. Also includes short diary written by wife Elizabeth Anna Corfield (nee Preston) consisting of notes on family news, visits, holidays and presents (1845-1860).
