Scope and content/abstract:
Manuscript volume, 15th century, containing 'De Confessione, liber primus': book one (of three) of the Malogranatum ascribed to Gallus, abbot of the Cistercian abbey of Königssaal, Bohemia.
The binding incorporates part of a 12th-century treatise on music. The leaf on each front board contained an alphabetical list of 36 antiphons.

From the Benedictine Abbey of St Peter, Erfurt. Pressmark D. 22 on folio 1. Pasted inside the front board is the bookplate of Walter Seton.
Immediate source of acquisition:
Purchased at the Seton sale at Sotheby's in 1927 and presented to University College London by the British Society of Franciscan Studies and others.
