Administrative/Biographical history:

The Archive is funded and owned by the Serge Prokofiev Foundation and is housed at the Goldsmiths College, University of London. It is the only archival repository to be exclusively dedicated to Prokofiev studies, and has an active acquisition policy, with the view of regrouping all extant material and facilitating research by connecting all identified repositories of original sources.

Content

Scope and content/abstract:

The Serge Prokofiev Archive consists of copies of the private and business papers and correspondence of Serge Prokofiev, [1915]-1936; Lina and Oleg Prokofiev's private archives, consisting of personal and family correspondence, business papers, photos and press cuttings; scrapbooks and other material relating to Serge Prokofiev collated by Christopher Palmer; and pamphlets, articles, press cuttings and programme notes relating to performances of Prokofiev's work. Also housed in the Archive are a collection of literature on and around Prokofiev in a variety of languages, in particular English and Russian; Prokofiev's complete works in numerous editions; and a large collection of audio and video recordings. Copies of his original manuscript musical scores are held on microfilm and CDRom.
