Context

Administrative/Biographical history:

"Families, entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial values: Britain and Russia" was a project headed by Professors R E Pahl and P R Thompson and funded by the Economic and Social Research Council. The project involved life story interviews of adults from two different generations of the same family in order to investigate the connection between family and cultural sources of entrepreneurial values and entrepreneurship. The British section of the project was never undertaken.

Scope and content/abstract:

Research material from the "Families, entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial values" project comprising:
audio tapes of forty six Russian life story interviews with two and in one case three members of different generations of twenty two families in Moscow and Leningrad, 1991, there are transcipts and translations of most if the interviews; related papers including interview summary sheets, a draft interview guide for interviewers and the end of project report

The collection is divided into two classes, audio tapes (PAH/1) and transcripts, translations and related papers (PAH/2).

Access unrestricted but an undertaking must be given not to identify individual interviewees in any published work produced as a result of using this collection.
