Administrative/Biographical history:
Karl Neumann was born into a Jewish family in Picin, Czechoslovakia, 1895. He trained at a business school and after initially working with his brother he went into business on his own in 1933. In 1939 on account of persecution by the Nazis on racial grounds he fled to London.

Papers of the Neumann family, 1909-1971, including personal papers of Karl Neumann comprising school certificates, marriage certificate, job references and family correspondence and the personal papers of Irma Neumann (née Traub) including birth certificates and school certificates.
