Archives Revealed Grant Programme Opens

In September 2024, The National Archives opened applications for Round 1 of the the Archives Revealed programme. This is the only grant programme in the United Kingdom dedicated to the cataloguing and unlocking of archival collections, making them accessible to researchers and to the public. Archives Revealed has been significantly expanded with a new partnership between The National Archives, the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Pilgrim Trust and the Wolfson Foundation. An instructive video of the Archives Revealed opening programme webinar can be found on YouTube.

There are three distinct award streams on offer: the Scoping Grant, the Cataloguing Grant and Consortium Grants. Each stream has two funding rounds (in Autumn 2024 and Spring 2025) and closing dates depend on which grant stream is applied for. Please see the above links for more information on timetables and how to apply.

Archives Revealed welcomes and encourages applications from people of all backgrounds and is committed to making the application process accessible to everyone. This includes providing support, in the form of reasonable adjustments, for people who have a disability or a long-term condition and face barriers to applying. It is recommended that applicants requiring support contact Archives Revealed at least 15 working days before the competition closing date, or as early as possible, to ensure that the most suitable support can be provided. Enquiries can be sent to: archivegrants@nationalarchives.gov.uk.
