CONTEXT
Administrative/Biographical history:
Brixton Synagogue was admitted as a Constituent member of the United Synagogue in 1913. A new building was constructed in Effra Road in 1921. Borough Synagogue became a part of this synagogue in 1961. The Synagogue subsequently joined with others to form the new South London Synagogue in Leigham Court Road.

Records of the Brixton Synagogue, consisting of financial records, photographs and a kethuba [marriage contract] register.

Deposited as part of a larger accession of material from the United Synagogue. The financial records and photographs (items 1-3) form part of the original deposit, while the kethuba register (item 4) is part of an additional deposit.
