Administrative/Biographical history:

Lanadron Rubber Estates Limited: This company was registered in 1907 to acquire land in Johore, Malaya, and to take over the Lanadron and Jementah estates run by the Lanadron Estate Limited and Jementah Rubber Company Limited. In 1947 it acquired Cluny Rubber Estates Limited (CLC/B/112-104), Ledbury Rubber Estates Limited (CLC/B/112-106) and Rubber Estates of Johore Limited (CLC/B/112-107).

Lanadron Rubber Estates Limited was purchased by London Asiatic Rubber and Produce Company (CLC/B/112-103) in 1960, and in 1968/9 it went into voluntary liquidation.

Records of Lanadron Rubber Estates Limited, including articles of association, circulars to shareholders, annual reports and photographs of the rubber estates.

Immediate source of acquisition:

The records of Harrisons and Crosfield and its subsidiary and secretarial companies were transferred to Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section between 1990 and 1998. The records were presented as a gift to the Library, except the minute books of some subsidiary companies which are held as a deposit. The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.
