Administrative/Biographical history:

Palladium Life and Fire Assurance Society was founded in 1824 offering life and fire insurance, mixed proprietary and mutual. They had offices at 10 Regent Street; 5 (later 7) Waterloo Place; and 276 Cheapside. The fire business was sold to Phoenix in 1829, and the name was changed to Palladium Life Assurance Society. The Society was acquired by Eagle Insurance in 1856.

Business records of Palladium Life Assurance Society including propectuses; life instruction book; proposals; re-registrations of judgements on Irish cases; contents of 'Box 1299, including stamped letters, prospectuses, proposal forms, receipts, copies of Post Magazine, letter books and other papers; newspaper reports and papers relating to 'Box 1299'; and advertisement.
