Manuscript volume, 1694: Rechenbuch. An arithmetic book containing problems, including calculations for finding the date of Judgement Day, the Golden Number, etc, together with astrological information. Some of the problems are set out in verse.

The manuscript formed part of the library of John Thomas Graves (1806-1870), mathematician and Professor of Jurisprudence at University College London, whose collection included manuscripts dating from the 15th to the 19th century, relating mainly to mathematics. Formerly Graves 1022. The volume also bears the Graves ex libris, and the catalogue numbers 149.c.26 and 256.

Immediate source of acquisition:

Graves' library was bequeathed to University College London in 1870.
