CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history:

The School of Advanced Study was established within the University of London in 1994, bringing together the specialized scholarship and resources of several prestigious research institutes to offer academic opportunities, facilities and stimulation across and between a wide range of subject fields in the humanities and social sciences. Since 1994, the composition of the School has changed as some of the original institutes have amalgamated and some newer ones have been founded. As of 2007, the following 10 institutes are members: Institute of Advanced Legal Studies; Institute of Historical Research; Institute of Classical Studies; Institute of Commonwealth Studies; Institute of English Studies; Institute of Romance Studies; Institute of Musical Research; Institute of Philosophy; Institute for the Study of the Americas; Warburg Institute.

Council for the University of London Institutes for Advanced Study Meeting Papers (CULIAS) meeting papers including minutes, agenda and supporting paperwork; administrative papers including correspondence, memos, file and meeting notes and guides and course programmes for School of Advanced Study Institutes.
