Administrative/Biographical history:

Augustus Désiré Waller was born in 1856 in Paris to the eminent physiologist A. V. Waller. Following in his father's footsteps, Waller went on to be elected to the Royal Society and become the Director of the Physiological Laboratory at the University of London. He held similar posts in Paris, Moscow, Rome and Belgium. He died in 1922.

Scope and content/abstract:

A medical notebook complied by Augustus Desiré Waller in the late 19th century with numerous citations from German medical authorities, a list of Waller's own publications, printed papers by him and other printed notices of his experiments.

Access to the items in the collection is unrestricted for the purpose of private study and personal research within the controlled environment and restrictions of the Library's Palaeography Room.
