Context
Administrative/Biographical history:
Sir Thomas Lauder Brunton obtained his MD at Edinburgh in 1867, and was physician to St Bartholomew's Hospital in 1895, having been elected FRS in 1874. He had discovered the efficacy of amyl nitrite in the treatment of angina, and wrote a standard text-book of pharmacy and therapeutics. He received a baronetcy in 1908, having been knighted in 1900. Scope and content/abstract:
Reports of Thomas Lauder Brunton's lectures on therapeutics and notes from a lecture on chloroform with three fragments of lectures on eye affections, on the effects of alcohol, and the effect of drugs on the brain given at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, 1892-[1895].
