This collection of prints, topographical notes and photographs relating to Saint Thomas' Hospital and other buildings of historical interest in Southwark was gathered together and researched by staff at the hospital before being deposited in 1970.

Photographs and prints of Saint Thomas' Hospital, including views of the hospital buildings at the Southwark site, 1738-1970; photographs of the hospital buildings at the Surrey Gardens site, 1862; views of the hospital buildings at the Lambeth site, 1681-1980, including aerial and panoramic views and photographs of bomb damage following World War Two; prints and photographs of staff, 1681-1898, including Henry Cline, William Cheselden and Charles Murchison; group photographs of staff, 1889-1929, including Sir William McCormac, Sir George Makins, W M Ord, J Braxton Hicks and the 1906 cricket team; photographs of treasurers and other staff, 1905-1946, including Sir Arthur Stanley; photographs of matrons and nurses, 1960; staff of the 5th London General Hospital, World War One, 1919; Dame Alicia Lloyd Still, 1930; photographs of College House, 1904-1936; photographs of patients on the wards, 1900s; photographs of special occasions, 1845-1996; photographs of works of art owned by the Hospital, 1894-1964; photographs of the hospital buildings and staff at Hydestile, 1940-1968; photographs and prints of other London hospitals and charitable institutions, 1831-1918; and a collection of prints, topographical notes and photographs, 1702-1949, relating to St Thomas' Hospital and other buildings of historical interest in Southwark, collected and researched by Mr Philip E.W.
