The company was formed in 1834 and incorporated by Act of Parliament, 19 and 20 Vict., c.lxii, 1856, to serve the Wandsworth and Putney neighbourhood. It was amalgamated in 1913 with the Mitcham and Wimbledon District Gas Light and Coke Company and the Epsom and Ewell Gas Company to form the Wandsworth, Wimbledon and Epsom District Gas Company from 1 Jan 1913.
