Administrative/Biographical history:

The Steam Brewery on Hythe Street, Dartford, Kent, was leased from William Miskin from 1868 and later bought from him, as the Oak Brewery. The company was incorporated as C N Kidd and Son Limited in February 1920. It was acquired by Courage and Company Limited in September 1937; and went into liquidation in October 1951.

Records of C N Kidd and Sons Limited, brewers, including minutes of Directors' meetings; register of mortgages and charges; papers and correspondence regarding liquidation; private ledger; profit and loss journal; cash book; papers relating to the ownership and management of premises owned by the company, including public houses; brewing book; and legal documents relating to C N Kidd and the Kidd family.
