Administrative/Biographical history:
Louis Benigne François Bertier de Sauvigny ([1737]-1789) was a French administrator. He was Assistant Intendant of Paris from 1768 until 1776 when he was made Intendant. His reforms were unpopular, and he was killed by revolutionary rioters on 22 July 1789.

Letter, 18 Jan 1775, signed by Louis Benigne François Bertier de Sauvigny, Intendant of Paris, to Guillaume Joseph Dupleix de Bacquencourt, Intendant of Dijon, sending him the declaration [wanting] of a beggar in official custody at Pontoise.
