Administrative/Biographical history:

The general election of 1906 was held from 12 January to 8 February 1906. It was won in a landslide victory by the Liberal Party under Henry Campbell-Bannerman.

The 1907 London County Council elections were won by the Municipal Reform Party, who were allied with the Conservative party.

Record found in the Search Room of the Greater London Record Office on 31 October 1984. It is labelled "LONDON ELECTIONS" on the spine, but has no other label or identifying marks. It has so far not been possible to discover to which collection it belongs.

The London County Council records held by London Metropolitan Archives include five volumes of L.C.C. election posters 1889-1913 (ref LCC/CL/COUN/2/41-45). J. Allen Baker, the Chairman of the L.C.C. Highways Committee, compiled a volume of newspaper cuttings relating to the Parliamentary elections of 1905 and 1906 and the L.C.C. elections of 1907. This is in the LMA library (ref 18.9 NEW).
