A Carabinieri Band is an Italian uniformed marching band. The first Carabinieri band was founded in 1820 by the Royal Carabinieri Corps. This band first toured in 1916 to raise money for wounded Allied soldiers.

The photograph was gifted to London Metropolitan Archives in February 2000 and came from a collection of Folkestone photographs donated to Kent County Archives by a relative of one of the staff at the Italian Consulate in Folkestone.
