The East India Company was based at East India House, Leadenhall Street (Sir William Craven's mansion house, rebuilt in 1726 and enlarged in 1799, occupying 11-21 Leadenhall Street in 1842, demolished in 1862 and the site sold to Lloyd's of London).

Records of the East India Company, comprising warrant for the delivery of tea; correspondence and receipts; account book of the ship "Ganges"; and papers relating to an investigation into the alleged sale of a staff position in the Madras establishment.

Guildhall Library holds only miscellaneous records of the East India Company, chiefly deeds, 17th-19th centuries (Ms 817, 3613, 6439, 9895, 19531-44, 24705, and 31375, and Add. Mss. 1123-32, and 1135). The main archives are held at the British Library, in the Asia, Pacific and Africa Collection.
