Administrative/Biographical history:

The Engineering Offices Association was set up on 15 December 1920 by companies interested in engineering insurance. It administered a tariff for engineering insurance established at the same time. The Association met at the offices of the Accident Offices Association which provided it with executive and secretarial services.

The records were deposited in the Manuscripts Section of Guildhall Library by the Accident Offices Association on 27 June 1985. The deposit was converted to a gift in June 1994 by the Association of British Insurers. The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.
