Battersea Chess Club was founded in 1885 and is still in existence today.

Scope and content/abstract:

The collection consists of minutes, membership records, annual reports of the Club from 1885 onwards. There is also a collection of match lists which detail all fixtures in a season, fron 1898-1938. Additionally there is a collection of miscellaneous ephemera which includes Rules of the Club, advertisements, programmes, invitations, a history of the club, and other material.
