Arranged in sections according to chronology of military service. Papers deposited by the School of Oriental and African Studies and the Army Cadet Force Association, and maps, are grouped separately.

Immediate source of acquisition:

The papers were deposited in the Centre in 1967, the bulk of which were received from the family. Papers relating to the King's African Rifles, Northern Rhodesia Regiment and Rhodesia African Rifles were transferred from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. A proportion of the papers relating to the Army Cadet Force Association were deposited by the Association itself.
