Administrative/Biographical history:
Born Agnes Kelly in 1875; educated at the Dollar Academy, Dunfirmline and Bedford College, University of London; Associate of Bedford College, 1896; gained first class honours in Zoology, 1897; went to University of Munich, Germany, where she gained her PhD and met Georg Murgoci, 1900; spent many years in Bucharest, where her husband was Professor of Mineralogy; died 1929.
Publications: Rumania and the Rumanians (Anglo-Rumanian Society, London, 1918).

Scope and content/abstract:
Offprints of articles, 1900-1931, written by Agnes Murgoci (née Kelly) concerning Romanian folklore and customs, and mineralogy, and including two biographical articles relating to the life of Agnes Murgoci, 1927. Correspondence relating to the deposit of the articles in the Bedford College Library, 1945.

Presented to the College Library by the family in 1945. The papers were transferred from the Bedford College Archives when the College merged with Royal Holloway in 1985.
