Conservation and Storage

Conservation is at the core of our thinking when working with valuable archival materials. After nearly twenty-five years working in the field, we have built up a degree of expertise in conserving and preserving archival materials and we understand that effective preservation and conservation of physical materials is not just an ‘added extra’ but should be at the root of any process relating to these materials.

The services we offer include:

collection and storage assessments

photographic conservation

paper conservation

book conservation

mould remediation

secure, environmentally controlled storage and housing solutions for your materials.

With this in mind, we offer our clients a range of options when approaching a conservation project:

Conservation And Preservation Services

We recognise that not every client who requires conservation services will be actively involved in a digitisation project. To that end we offer a professional standalone conservation and preservation service which covers all the key aspects of the conservation process.

Integrated Conservation and Preservation Services for Digitisation Projects

Digitising and digitally preserving your materials does not negate the need to ensure that the original items are professionally preserved. When carrying out a full digitisation project for a client, we offer a conservation and preservation service which integrates seamlessly into the digitisation process. The key aspects of the process fit in at relevant points during the digitisation process.

Bespoke Conservation and Preservation Services

We recognise that clients may already have aspects of their conservation needs covered either via internal expertise or through other third party organisations. We’re happy to work within an existing framework offering individual services on a bespoke basis.
