New Book on The Strand by Geoff Browell

AIM25 is delighted to announce the publication of a new book co-authored by our chair, Dr Geoff Browell.

The Strand: A Biography by Geoff Browell and the Australian author, Eileen Chanin is the first modern history of London’s iconic Strand. It charts the story of the street from its prehistoric origins to Roman highway and home of the musical hall and birthplace of broadcasting. A place of scientific invention, social upheaval, writing and revolution, it helped shape the modern world.  

As well as a lovely piece Camden New Journal, and several forthcoming interviews on the BBC and Times Radio, The Strand has also been shortlisted for Architectural Book of the Year!

Published by Manchester University Press, The Strand is currently available in hardback can be purchased online and from all reputable bookshops.
