The National Archives at Kew have opened their current round of applications to both the Resilience and Engagement Grants programmes. Recent Resilience Grants have been awarded to Coventry University Archives, St Ives Archives and Max Communications client Chester Zoo, while Engagement Grants have been awarded to Bedfordshire Archives, Wentworth Woodhouse Trust, York Business Improvement District, Inmans Helping Hand, The Story at Mount Oswald, Essex Record Office and Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Record Office.
Resilience Grants
The Resilience Grants programme provides grants of up to £20k and are designed to empower the archive sector to find sustainable solutions that enable change and develop organisational resilience. The current round closes at 5pm on Friday the 10th of January 2025.
Engagement Grants on the theme of “Community”
Engagement Grants offers funding of up to £3k for organisations to conduct outreach projects that will connect archives with their communities in places across England and Wales. TNA is currently inviting applications on the theme of ‘Community’ and welcomes proposals that either reach out to new audiences or connect with old audiences in new ways. For example, many heritage organisations will be commemorating the 80th anniversaries of VE and VJ Day next year—proposals may be inspired by these events or by something completely different. TNA wants simply to support engagement with archives that is meaningful for communities. The current round closes at 5pm on Friday the 17th January 2025.
